We recently stopped at Fairview Inn Wilmington on our way back from Myrtle Beach, hoping for a cozy night before heading home to Auckland. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t match our expectations. Our initial room had only one king bed, which didn’t work for our family of three, so we had to request a switch; That's when the adventure took a turn for the worse. While the room was clean and the beds were comfortable, the atmosphere around the motel left much to be desired. The sounds of late-night street conversations about, well, not-so-family-friendly topics were hard to ignore, especially with our eight-year-old in tow. Despite having useful amenities like free Wi-Fi and parking, which might have made a difference in a better location, we ultimately left at dawn to find more hospitable surroundings.
